At the AGM in January 2025 there was a productive discussion about the clubs Life Membership Policy. As an outcome, a detailed consultation into the policy was undertaken by a working group led by Moody. 

The working group submitted recommendations to the committee for consideration, which were developed following numerous discussions with members to gauge opinions on the topic. The committee welcomed these recommendations and met on 6^th May to discuss their potential adoption/application.

This linked document sets out the Committee’s proposal for formalisation of the Life Member policy,  The proposal broadly follows the recommendations made following the consultation, with a few minor changes and builds.

The policy is now being shared with members to allow time for comment and reflection. As this is a change to our policies, the policy will be opened for discussion and a vote at an EGM to be held by way of Zoom call on 9^th June 2025 at 8pm.

The committee hopes the ERC Members are supportive of the new policy, which it feels provides a good compromise between recognition and celebration of our long serving members, whilst being sympathetic to the long term financial viability of the Club.
