RTR COURSE CUT BACK

Meet at Stonebridge Lock Car Park, Watermead Way N17 0XD at 1pm.

We will be walking the course between Stonebridge Lock and the Chalk Bridge cutting back any vegetation that is likely to cause an issue to runners during the RTR event and identifying any health and safety risks that may need to be notified to the Canals and Rivers Trust or LVRPA.

This will include low-level vegetation, bushes and branches.

If you have any suitable hand held tools or cordless electrical equipment, please bring them along as well as gloves and any other protective equipment that you need.

Gareth will be bringing a 'truck load' (not quite) of tools that will be available for use but the more we have the better.

There will also be cold drinks and snacks to ensure we have sufficient energy to complete the task, courtesy of Gareth.

Please sign up so we know that you are coming but if you experience any issues attending on the day please text Gareth on 07851 255322.

The more that sign up the quicker we will finish.

RTR COURSE CUT BACK

Meet at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, 61 Meridian Way N9 0AR at 1pm and we will then make our way to Towpath Road by car sharing where possible.

This is usually the worst part of the course for overgrown vegetation.

If you have any suitable hand held tools or cordless electrical equipment, please bring them along as well as gloves and any other protective equipment that you need.

Run The River Course Check

THERE IS NO WHITEWEBBS RUN THIS SUNDAY.

Meet at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, 61 Meridian Way N9 0AR at 9am.

A social run of the RTR 10k course to check that there are no issues before the big day on 11th October.

This is an important check as last year we found a fallen tree on the course that had to be dealt with urgently by LVRPA Rangers.

If you need to do a longer run as part of your training plan, or just because, then why not extend your run along the river once we return to Alfie's Lock.

RUN THE RIVER 10K

SAVE THE DATE

Please save this date in your diary as it's the day of ERC's Run the River 10k!!!!  It's a really important event for our club.

As many of you know our ERC volunteers make Run the River an absolutely fantastic community event. Every year we get brilliant feedback from participants about the encouraging supporters along the route and the friendly atmosphere on the day.

To make the magic happen we need at least 70 volunteers so please do save the date.  More details on how you can help will be sent out in the summer.

Sunday Social Run

Essex Road Train Station to Greenwich 10.8 Miles/ 17.3km

Essex Road to Greenwich .

We will catch the train to Essex Road, so please meet at your relevent station a few minutes before the train departs. I will be joining at Enfield Chase.

Please join one of the following trains for the journey to Essex Road on Sunday 25th of October.

0931 Gordon Hill, 0933 Enfield Chase, 0935 Grange Park, 0938 Winchmore Hill or 0941 Palmers Green

We will then run as a group from Essex Road to Greenwich via Victoria park, The River Lea and Thames Footpath , before heading under the River Thames via the Greenwich foot tunnel at Island Gardens.

Please wear a club top, either a RTR flouresant or standard club top. If the weather forecast is bad then please bring appropriate clothing to run in.

The paths are quite narrow in places and some very low bridges, especially along the Regents Canal so we will have to be very careful. Also the route is very busy with other users so we will have to take care, look out for everyone and give way to pedestrians.

We will run as a group, with regular stops to regroup so all ERC runners are welcome.

We will have a drink in Greenwich from one of the many pubs in the town centre, then walk to Greenwich station for the journey home. The station is about 10 minutes walk from the Town Centre.
