Track Session - 6 x 3 minutes

7:15 pm warmup, for a 7:30 session start

Thanks to Coach James G. for this one:

So this is my take on the legendary 6 x 3 minutes session which is a firm favourite of prominent running coach Martin Yelling. The session is aimed at helping you maximise your 5km potential. In my twist on this session, the recovery time drops as you progress through the reps. The session consists of the following:

Warm-up:

2 Laps Easy and 4 x 50m strides.

6 x 3 minutes at 5km target pace

Standing recovery after Rep 1:  150 seconds

Standing recovery after Rep 2: 135 seconds

Standing recovery after Rep 3: 120 seconds

Standing recovery after Rep 4: 105 seconds

Standing recovery after Rep 5: 90 seconds

Standing recovery after Rep 6: 120 seconds
