Anyone interested in attending the “Running Show” at Sandown Park on Saturday 24th November? It’s free if you pre-register.

Or has anyone been to previous events who could share their experience i.e Was it any good??!! (It certainly sounds interesting for free….)

    • Rajiv Ratan says:

I went to it a couple of years ago (back then you had to pay to go to it). It was quite like the London Marathon expo, lots of retailers of running gear advertising and selling their products, if you need to buy something specific, or need some new gear then it is a good place to compare what is available. The best bit was the talks/workshops throughout the day which were interesting and quite useful.

Worth a look, and you could combine it with a trip down to Bushy Park for the parkrun there.

I’m keen (in principal), would travel up from Guildford on the day, then come back to Enfield for the XC on 25th November.

    Hi,

Me and a few friends are doing the Amsterdam Marathon on 21st October.

After speaking to a few at the club, I was asked to add to the website. There is a marathon, half marathon and 8km on the same day (so no excuses).

    Link below

Remember what happens in amsterdam, stays in amsterdam!!

    • Rajiv Ratan says:

Unfortunately it is the same day as our 10k race at Lee Valley, so will be busy with that. I have heard Amsterdam is a good marathon to do…..one day.

Who celebrated his 70th Birthday on

    Friday 27th January 2012

    With friends from ERC

If I knew I had to do this tonight, I wouldn’t have turned up. I only made up my mind at 6 o’clock to come anyway. Joking aside as Aggie, Tony, Ray & Vas will tell you I didn’t want all this, but now I’m here I’m glad I came. I didn’t realise I had so many mates.

As you know, since Marathon day last year my life has been a nightmare – nothing but hospitals, operations, crutches and walking sticks. Depression, suicide, you name it I’ve done it, been there, done that, got the T-shirts. Through all this I’ve had you out there to thank for helping me through it all. Your hospital visits, all that healthy food, cakes, sweets, biscuits, crisps, Get Well Cards, phone calls, messages and asking amongst you how I was. To you all, I say one BIG THANK YOU.

On Monday I was at the hospital for a check up, I’ve been given the all clear to ride a bike for the next month and then on March 4th to run round the Trail at Whitewebbs.

On Sunday, I’m off to Lanzarote for a fortnight then I’ll start my come back. Instead of running 7 miles a day to the airport and back, I’ll be on my bike. Then after two weeks in the sun, Thank God, I’ll be back to work. By the end of April, I hope to be running alongside most of you again and probably beating you!

One last thing, don’t forget if anyone asks you how old I am, I’m in my forties!! Say anything else, you’re in trouble!!!!!

Thanks to you all for coming, Good Luck and most of all Good Health because without that, you’ve got nothing.

Love You All, especially the Girls !!!!
