Suggested Routes for Whitewebbs on Sun 17th February 2019
WW-Maiden Bridge-Hotspur-Bulls Cross Ride-White Water Centre-River Lee Towpath-NORTHBOUND and return same route. (Choose your own return point to give you the distance you want.)
Note: Normal 09.00 start time but if you plan to do 16 miles or more, or if it suits, some will start at 08.00.
No stopping to regroup on these longer runs.
Track session 14/02/19 – 7:15 for 7:30 start
Valentine 800’s – just because
7 x 800m (2 laps) @ 5k pace
200m jog (or 2:00 min) recovery

It seems that the newer routes are still there. Maybe a temporary mapometer glitch.

Mapometer recently moved to a non-free model. It could be that those routes were added before it went subscription based. I’ll have to check it out at the weekend. (Ken had a similar issue with the Sunday Routes)

Note 1: the Royston Cross Country is this Sunday
Note 2: there will also be a 20 mile marathon training run (10 mins/mile or faster)
Who is running the Cancer Research Winter Run 10k tomorrow? I wonder if we would all get to see each other ?

Choosing a marathon training plan.
A bit of a follow-up to the Simon’s marathon chat earlier today.
There is a good running resource https://fellrnr.com/wiki/Main_Page which is a personal Wiki of a running enthusiast and a top ultra-runner Jonathan Savage. There is a lot of useful data there, but specifically I would recommend the comparison of the marathon training plans and their suitability to different kinds of runners with different targets:
I know that many people use plans from the websites of sports companies, races themselves or newspapers, but these plans are typically based on the ones discussed by fellrnr and can be defined by several key variables (mileage, speed Vs volume, ramp-up etc.).

A NON-MUDDY ROUTE
Note: there will also be a marathon training run starting at Picketts Lock Sports Centre at 08.00.
This is aimed at a pace of sub 10 min/mile. (Choose your own return point to give you the distance you want.) No stopping to re-group. Team up with similar pace runners.

I assume you are meaning the run at Whitewebbs rather than the run at Picketts Lock which will be at a moderate pace.
I am not sure how may runners there will be at Whitewebbs but if you turn up there will probably be some slower runners. However the chances are that they will be doing about 6 miles minimum. But if you are happy to run with them initially and turn back on your own that is a possibility.
